Cork Flute Weekend 7/8 Oct 2006
In association with the Cork School of Music, and All Flutes Plus, the CFS aims to kick off its activities with a fantastic weekend of fluting for everyone from beginners to advanced players. Ian Clarke and Clare Southworth, professors at the Guildhall and Royal Academy of Music in London, will give a gala recital on Saturday night and will conduct workshops and masterclasses throughout Sat and Sun. They will be joined by local professionals, Evelyn Grant, Eilis O’Sullivan and Katrina Emtage who will lead activities for every level of player - including the adult enthusiast. EVERYONE will come together for group sessions and the final performance and ALL FLUTES PLUS will have a dedicated room with instruments, head joints, accessories and sheet music for all to try or buy. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded flautists and work together in a non-competitive happy and supportive atmosphere. The cost is €60 per adult, €40 for age 16 and under and full-time music students.

Southampton University Wind Orchestra presents a day of flute fun with Ian Clarke and Tim Carey (accompanist). Ian will be holding six individual masterclasses, as well as sessions talking about extended techniques, tone and expression. There will be an informal concert to end the day at 5.30pm, with Flautissimo and the Hampshire Flute Choir.
Venue: Southampton University Music Departement.
Tickets are £17.50 full day, £3 evening concert.
